Job Details

Job Title: Software Tester
Location: Remote (EST/CST)
Duration: 6 Months Contract-to-Hire
Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain Public Trust clearance

About the Role:
We re seeking a Software Tester to join the team supporting government health programs. In this role, you ll be responsible for ensuring software quality through robust manual and automated testing. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with long-term potential, supporting mission-critical work to combat fraud, waste, and abuse in government-sponsored healthcare.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for functional, regression, performance, and integration testing.
  • Collaborate with development and product teams to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
  • Identify, document, and track defects; perform root cause analysis.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines in coordination with DevSecOps teams.
  • Monitor system performance using tools like JMeter, Grafana, or Splunk.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives).
  • Continuously improve testing processes, tools, and automation frameworks.

Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of software testing experience (manual + automation)
  • Expertise with tools & technologies: Selenium, JUnit, Cucumber, TestNG, Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Docker/Kubernetes
  • Experience with Python, SQL, and version control systems (Git)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins), and monitoring tools (e.g., New Relic, CloudWatch)
  • Strong understanding of Agile/SAFe methodologies; experience with Jira/Confluence
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Testing certifications (ISTQB, CSTE)
  • SAFe Agile Certification
  • Background in healthcare IT or familiarity with CMS/HIPAA standards
  • Experience with AWS (S3, EC2, RDS, EKS, SQS, CloudWatch)
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform) and security testing practices

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
