Position: Facilities Engineer/Transport Engineer

Location: Remote

Long Term Contract

Project Details:

Scope of Work:
  • Technical oversight on macro new builds, small cells, relocations, and capacity-driven projects from a specific switch.
  • Ensure month-over-month targets stay on track for delivery.
  • Build CND paths for each project.
  • Complete transport milestones once the project is complete.
  • Create Tess Events for each Small Cell Project to ensure site bidding once the milestone (ROW Permit Applied) is hit.
  • For Macro New Builds, DF bids go to HQ, and once Preliminary CDs are actualized, the Engineer completes steps to get the site over for bid by HQ.

Project Support:
  • Transport backhaul of small cells and macros.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Create detailed designs for new build macro cell sites, small cells, DAS/IBV sites, MW systems, and dark fiber networks in CND.
  • Complete transport-related milestones in CND (Work Order), Fuze (CQ), etc.
  • Experience in EOS to NNI conversions and disconnecting old services (update CND UDA, CID, Path, etc).
  • Conduct CND audit/documentation of VzW fiber assets and end-to-end design circuit paths, equipment configurations, and card/port assignments.
  • Audit and issue design changes/updates as needed to maintain database accuracy (circuits/contracts, fronthaul, backhaul, MW networks, etc).
  • Create new equipment, segments, and paths in CND for ENSE hub migrations and update all once the hub migration is complete.
  • Create new equipment, segments, and paths in CND for cell site router migrations to ENSE and update all once the migration is complete.
  • Ensure CND stays synchronized with FUZE, INAM, and IOP, and work with support teams to resolve synchronization errors.
  • Analyze cost and time for different backhaul solutions to deliver the fastest solution while providing high-quality service per business needs.


(Top 3):
  • Transport background supporting Ethernet, Sonet, backhaul.
  • Experience using Granite or CND as a database.
  • Knowledge of IP addressing, routing principles, and network design.

Nice-to-Haves:
  • Located in central FL.
  • Experience with Fuze.

Client Job Description:

As an Interconnect Engineer, you will be part of a team that works with the latest technology to provide our customers access to our many network components, including 5G systems. You will be responsible for providing end-to-end technical oversight and project management for transport network expansion projects. These projects focus on the expansion of network hubs in support of EBH, dark fiber, ng MLS, and microwave networks.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support and project management for the design, acquisition, and implementation of all equipment supporting Network infrastructure projects, including network hub power/space/cooling, equipment installation, equipment integration, and network readiness.
  • Plan, design, and implement the latest transport technologies in support of our 5G network rollout, in addition to supporting the existing 4G LTE infrastructure.
  • Manage vendor selection, contract negotiation, RFP, and ongoing relationships.
  • Utilize an internal database to document all fiber assets and design end-to-end circuit paths, including equipment configurations and card/port assignments.
  • Develop and maintain circuit delivery schedules for each project and actively manage and drive vendors to meet our deliverables.
  • Run various utilization reports to evaluate capacity and issue design changes as needed to maintain optimal network performance.
  • Work with Network planning on strategic initiatives to develop future technology solutions that support our infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with other network groups to ensure projects meet expected demands in support of the company's objectives.
  • Manage capital spending on a monthly basis to align with forecasted spend and project timelines.

Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience (working on Macro New Builds, Small Cells, In-Building, Forced Relocations, Mobile Deployment), Circuit Design, Tess Events, Contract Amendments.
  • Experience in the cellular/telecommunications industry.
  • Knowledge of IP addressing, routing principles, and network design.
  • Demonstrated experience with Granite or CND circuit database.


Additional Job Description:
  • Provide support for designing the companys interconnect Network (e.g., leased lines, dark fiber, microwave) which supports our business. Partner with vendors to order, deliver, and install all interconnect facilities, maintaining circuit inventories, managing Network expansion, identifying Ethernet backhaul solutions, and ensuring compliance with company standards and practices.
  • Assist in supporting the development and expansion of networks through provisioning, coordinating, and implementing circuits.
  • Maintain capacity by analyzing the network, forecasting future needs, and coordinating with vendors to meet demands.
  • Coordinate the acquisition and installation of equipment supporting the network infrastructure.
  • Provide design and implementation support for data routers, Ethernet backhaul interconnect, and other supporting data systems.
  • Manage vendor relations, including equipment, product, and/or service selection, procurement, budgets, and performance.
