Job Title: AWS Senior Architect
Location: Rockville, MD (Onsite)
Duration/Term: Long-Term Contract

Job Summary:

We are looking for a hands-on AWS Senior Architect with a strong engineering mindset and deep expertise in building scalable, resilient, and secure architectures. This role requires more than high-level strategy it demands an individual who can design, implement, and troubleshoot end-to-end solutions, while mentoring teams and leading critical projects.

The ideal candidate combines technical execution with strategic vision, excels in cross-functional collaboration, and is passionate about modern DevOps practices, cloud-native tooling, and continual learning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect and implement end-to-end AWS cloud-native solutions with a focus on scalability, security, and performance.
• Lead architecture decisions, design reviews, and project delivery across DevOps and data engineering domains.
• Implement automation infrastructure using Python scripting and Terraform for IaC.
• Design and optimize CI/CD pipelines with tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and AWS CodePipeline.
• Oversee container orchestration with Kubernetes/EKS, ensuring high availability and efficient deployments.
• Integrate with AI/ML platforms (Dataiku, Databricks) and support ETL pipelines with tools such as Matillion.
• Collaborate with security, operations, and development teams to ensure compliance and governance.
• Provide technical mentorship and drive best practices across engineering teams.
• Support incident response, system optimization, and root-cause analysis of complex cloud issues.

Required Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture and engineering.
• Proven expertise designing and executing robust solutions in AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, IAM, VPC, etc.)
• Deep hands-on skills in Kubernetes (EKS preferred), Terraform, Python scripting, and CI/CD toolchains.
• Experience with AI/ML platforms like Dataiku or Databricks.
• Strong understanding of ETL concepts and tools (e.g., Matillion).
• Demonstrated success delivering complex projects and cloud transformations.
• Excellent communication and documentation
• Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• AWS Certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect Professional).
• Experience working in regulated environments (e.g., healthcare, finance).
• Familiarity with data governance frameworks and compliance standards.
