What You will Get to Do:
You will work remote.
As an intern at Panasonic Connect North America, you will work on challenging research and development projects and will contribute to future products of the company. These projects are in the space of smart manufacturing and will enable you to gain significant understanding of the manufacturing domain while developing your skills. We are working on Predictive Maintenance, Conversational AI, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipeline projects to name a few of the technologies being developed. You will work alongside Panasonic employees and a highly skilled peer group to accomplish project goals following an agile methodology. You would also get to interact with Panasonic Senior Management and occasionally with real users of your product.

We are looking to fill a internship position for a short-term (12-week) project with good a potential of continuing in the future semesters. We will consider applications for engineers with different levels of education: PhD-level, MS-level, BS-level and undergraduate students.
The ideal candidate for Software Development Intern would be responsible, self-driven, and with agile team experience. Solid programming experience is the fundamental requirement for these positions. Technical documentation skills, diagrams, charts, PowerPoint, code comments and clear coding style are welcome.

- Jupyter Notebooks
- Data processing (Numpy and Pandas)
- Machine learning fundamentals
- RAG pipeline tools (such as Langchain, LlamaIndex, Ollama, and HuggingFace Transformers)
- Cloud development (optional, preferably MS Azure)
- Docker containers (optional)
- Linux command line and
- Solid software development and engineering experience is highly encouraged.

- Awareness of risk management and mitigation techniques

- Strong, frequent written and verbal communication to peer and management audiences
