Job Title: Senior Network Development Engineer (Automation/SDN)
Location: Jersey City, NJ (Nearby candidates preferred)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Network Development Engineer with strong expertise in systems engineering, virtualization, and networking. This role requires 80% hands-on coding and involves developing and optimizing virtual machine and network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in SDN, hypervisors (KVM preferred), Linux, and network storage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement network and virtualization solutions.
- Write high-quality code using Java, C++, or Python.
- Work with Software-Defined Networking (SDN) technologies to enhance network automation.
- Develop and optimize virtual machines and network infrastructure.
- Work with Hypervisors (KVM strongly preferred) and virtualization platforms (VMware preferred).
- Enhance API integrations and ensure seamless interaction between open-source products and networking/virtualization.
- Troubleshoot network storage and Linux-based infrastructure.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive network automation and cloud integration.
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of development experience in systems engineering, virtual machines, and networking.
- Strong proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: Java, C++, Python.
- Software-Defined Networking (SDN) experience is required.
- Hands-on experience with Hypervisors (KVM preferred).
- Strong virtualization experience (VMware preferred).
- Strong Linux skills and understanding of network storage.
- Good understanding of APIs and how open-source products integrate with networking and virtualization.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with OpenShift, NSX, KVM, and other open-source products.
- Cloud experience (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
- Proficiency in additional programming languages.
