Senior Security Engineer -Fortinet
Join a dedicated lab team supporting one of the world's largest telecom providers and its U.S. government customer as they adopt next generation Fortinet security platforms. You will design, build, and certify complex Fortinet architectures in a controlled environment before they are rolled into mission-critical production networks.

This opportunity is open to candidates local to Basking Ridge, NJ, Ashburn, VA, or Richmond, TX, with the expectation of being on-site two days per week at one of these locations.

Senior Security Engineer Requirements
  • Must be eligible for Public Trust clearance.
  • 6+ years' experience with Fortinet Technologies
  • Deep expertise with FortiGate (UTM, SD-WAN, SSL/IPS, VPNs, HA, CLI troubleshooting)
  • Proficient with FortiAnalyzer (log analysis, reporting, compliance dashboards)
  • Experienced in FortiManager (policy packages, ADOMs, centralized config)
  • Strong networking knowledge (TCP/IP, routing, VLANs, high availability design)
    Nice to Have
    • Certified NSE 5, 6 and/or 7


    Senior Security Engineer Responsibilities
    • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, planning, and operations teams to align on technical requirements and timelines
    • Analyze test results and logs to identify root causes of failures and drive issue resolution
    • Perform regression, functional, and performance testing on new firmware, hardware, and network designs
    • Participate in lab environment setup, configuration, and maintenance to simulate real-world deployment scenarios
    • Document test outcomes, issues, and recommendations in clear, actionable reports
    • Provide feedback to vendors and internal teams on device behavior and performance
    • Support government compliance and certification requirements through rigorous testing
    • Stay current on Fortinet product updates and emerging technologies relevant to broadband/ISP services
