IT Deployment Technician - Contract - Minneapolis, MN
Location: Fully onsite in Minneapolis, MN
Duration: 2-3 month contract (through end of year, possibly into January)
Pay: Up to $16.25/hr
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Overview:
Our client is seeking two entry-level IT Support Assistants to help with a high-volume laptop upgrade and deployment project. This is a short-term opportunity to support a critical initiative involving approximately 200 HP Windows laptops that need to be imaged and distributed by year-end.
Responsibilities:
- Reimage HP laptops using standardized Windows OS images and deployment tools (e.g., SCCM, MDT, or other imaging platforms).
- Configure system settings, join devices to the domain, and install required applications and updates.
- Perform quality assurance checks to verify system functionality and compliance with configuration standards.
- Label, inventory, and document all devices before and after deployment.
- Assist with data migration and user setup as needed.
- Coordinate deployment scheduling and distribution with end users and IT support teams.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues encountered during setup or imaging.
- Maintain accurate records of completed work in asset tracking or ticketing systems.
- Follow IT security policies and procedures for device preparation and disposal of old systems.
Qualifications:
- Technical aptitude, education, or training; IT experience is a plus
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
- Reliable and punctual
