Data Engineering Manager

Linkwell Health, the premier consumer experience company serving health plans and health services organizations, seeks a Data Engineering Manager to guide our healthcare data initiatives. This individual will balance strategy with execution, providing architectural direction while remaining deeply engaged in design and implementation. The role requires experience building secure, scalable solutions in a regulated environment, and supporting member engagement through personalized outbound marketing.

In this role your Key Performance Areas (KPAs) will be:

System design and implementation

Lead the design and operation of large-scale data pipelines and analytics on Databricks

Architect and manage Azure infrastructure using Terraform/Terragrunt

Build and maintain backend services, APIs, and monitoring systems

Innovation and product support

Drive adoption of AI, including LLMs, RAG, and agentic systems, in production use cases

Support outbound marketing and personalization through data integration and advanced analytics (e.g., Braze, Mailchimp, Twilio)

Compliance and security

Ensure compliance with HIPAA and best practices for handling PHI/PII

Support ongoing security initiatives through sound design and scalable architecture.

Required Skills

Databricks (Delta Lake, Spark, Auto Loader, Change Data Feed, Unity Catalog)

Azure (AKS, Event Hub/Service Bus, Blob Storage)

Data engineering at scale: ETL design, schema evolution, partitioning, CDC

AI fluency: LLMs, agent frameworks, production deployments

Python backend development (Flask, Poetry, Prometheus, structured logging)

Kubernetes (deployments, Gateway API, Envoy/Contour, observability)

Security & compliance mindset (HIPAA, sensitive data management)

Experience with outbound marketing platforms and personalization workflows (Braze, Mailchimp, Twilio)

Preferred Skills

Experience with Grafana/Prometheus for monitoring

Prior work in healthcare or other regulated industries

Demonstrated leadership in mentoring engineers and shaping technical strategy
