Job Description

NetSuite Consultant

Our client is seeking an experienced NetSuite Consultant to lead the companywide implementation and migration of NetSuite ERP for their transportation engineering organization. This role will play a crucial part in transforming and optimizing business processes including project accounting, resource management, and billing by configuring and customizing NetSuite to meet industry-specific needs. The successful candidate will also develop and lead training sessions and create ongoing resources to ensure adoption across departments such as operations, accounting, and HR.

Key Responsibilities:

Implementation & Migration

  • Establish systems and processes within NetSuite that support scalability, enabling the company to efficiently accommodate future acquisitions, the opening of new locations, and overall organizational growth.
  • Lead the end-to-end NetSuite ERP implementation across all, including operations and shared services.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to define and document business processes such as project lifecycle tracking, resource planning, vendor management, and project billing.
  • Oversee data migration from legacy systems (e.g., Deltek, QuickBooks, or industry-specific tools), ensuring accuracy, consistency, and security.
  • Align NetSuite modules with the business needs of transportation engineering projects.

NetSuite Configuration & Optimization

  • Configure NetSuite modules for Project Management, Financials, CRM, and Time/Expense tracking to match transportation engineering workflows.
  • Build and maintain custom workflows, saved searches, dashboards, and reports for leadership, engineers and administrative staff.
  • Establish best practices for project budgeting and compliance reporting (e.g., DOT or municipal requirements).

Training & Change Management

  • Develop and deliver role-specific training programs for NetSuite tools and processes.
  • Create user-friendly documentation and self-service resources including manuals, video tutorials, and help guides.
  • Offer ongoing support and act as the internal NetSuite expert during and after the implementation phase.
  • Collect user feedback and continuously refine training materials and system configurations to improve usability.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Business Systems, Civil Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 3 5+ years of hands-on experience with NetSuite ERP, preferably in professional services or engineering industries.
  • Proven experience leading NetSuite implementation and data migration projects in a mid-size or enterprise organization.
  • Strong knowledge of project-based business models, ideally in the transportation engineering or infrastructure sector.
  • Familiarity with NetSuite Project Management, Advanced Financials, and SuiteAnalytics.
  • NetSuite certifications preferred (e.g., SuiteFoundation, ERP Consultant, Administrator).

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in high-growth, scaling organizations, particularly those backed by private equity is a plus, especially in fast-paced, acquisition-driven environments.
  • Experience with transportation engineering business workflows, such as project phasing, change orders, and compliance with public sector contracting requirements.

Physical Demands:

  • This role primarily involves working in an office or remote setting, requiring extended periods of sitting, working at a computer, and participating in virtual meetings.
  • The position may also involve light lifting of materials such as laptops or documents.
  • Occasional travel may be required to company offices, project sites, or for in-person meetings and training sessions, depending on project needs.
