Position: Zscaler Engineer

Location: Remote

Hiring Mode: 6 Months Contract

Job Description:

We are seeking a skillset with strong Zscaler skills. Our focus will be at the engineering level (not entry level, not architectural level). Delivery will target existing, planned work and any net new work arriving later this year, early next year.

Target Work

We would consider our new contractor Engineer to work the following efforts:

• ZCC currency, application and forwarding profiles
• PAC file maintenance (deployment and cleanup)
• IDP migration and policy configuration
• zScaler Cloud Connector, Network Presence, and ZDX
• ZPA Application Segmentation (Zero-Trust Design)

About the Hire

We will solicit the following skills / attributes to the company in search for the best hire:

• Proven hands-on experience with Zscaler technologies, including:
  • Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA)
  • Zscaler Private Access (ZPA)
  • App Connectors and Service Edges
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNS, firewall rules, GRE/IPSec tunnels)
• Experience with applicable segmentation and zero trust architectures
• Ability to configure and troubleshoot Zscaler Client Connector (ZCC) policies and profiles
• Experience integrating Zscaler with identity providers (Azure EntraID, Ping)
• Operational and Project Execution Skills

• Able to translate high-level security architecture into Zscaler configurations
• Comfortable working with agile tools like Jira and Confluence to track work
• Can handle configuration migrations, rule reviews, and exception tuning
• Experience documenting implementations and creating as-built documentation
• Understands change management and can work within enterprise governance models

• Demonstrated bias for action - willingness to take initiative, test solutions, and troubleshoot without waiting for direction
• Strong communication skills can explain technical issues to both engineers and business stakeholders
• Detail-oriented, with a passion for clean policy design and reducing technical debt
• Motivated by outcomes, not just tasks wants to see projects succeed end-to-end
• Prior experience in fast-paced, high-stakes security projects a strong plus

Nice to have Qualities

• Zscaler Certified Professional (ZCP) or Zscaler Certified Expert (ZCE)
• Experience with scripting or automation (e.g., Terraform, Python, Zscaler API)
• Previous consulting or contract experience in enterprise environments
