Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, scalable and performant web applications.
• Collaborate closely with PMs, UX engineers, security researchers, and AI/ML engineers to translate business scenarios into intuitive user experiences and robust backend systems.
• Lead feature crews and mentor junior engineers, promoting engineering excellence and secure coding practices.
• Drive operational excellence through monitoring, testing, and incident response readiness.

Extensive technical expertise in data engineering, cloud technologies, infrastructure systems, and modern front-end development frameworks. Experience in working with cross-functional teams, such as product managers, designers, researchers, engineers, and stakeholders, with strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills, for translating research into a production service. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and fast-paced environment, and to adapt to changing priorities and feedback. Ability to deal with ambiguity at work; excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Qualifications:

Required/Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science , or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
• OR equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in modern web frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, TypeScript) and backend technologies (e.g., C#, Java, Node.js, Python).
• Experience with cloud platforms (preferably Azure) and microservices architecture.
• Industry experience with 5+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on full-stack development.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
• OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
• OR equivalent experience .
• Strong technical skills involving problem-solving, architecture design, and coding.
• Independent and self-motivated.
• Strong communication skills with experience in cross-team and cross-organizational collaboration.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
