About the Team

The Growth and Merchant Self-Service team is responsible for building applications that define the vast majority of the user experience on Clover Dashboard to help merchants to configure and fine tuning the account and responsible for the clover.com website and Growth initiatives. Our products cover a wide spectrum from Subscriptions, Complex integration with other systems in Fiserv, Shopping new hardware, Tasks services to guide the merchant to setup the account, and various other areas.

What does a Fullstack Engineer do at Clover?

In this role, we're looking for an experienced backend software engineer to help improve/expand our platform and product. You will accomplish this by maintaining and adding new features, investing/reproducing/resolving bugs, creating helpful documentation, and re-architecting our system to achieve better scalability and availability.

Partner with the Infrastructure, Product and Design teams, you will be pragmatic in balancing priorities and enjoy working in an iterative model where specifications are constantly changing.

What you will do:

  • Design/implement and maintain REST APIs for mobile and web clients including our web dashboard, 3rd party apps
  • Design/implement and maintain React applications
  • Identify technical requirements in product meetings and assist the business team with realistic project planning and feature development; translate product requirements into functional, maintainable, extensible software that is in-line with company objectives
  • Own your services /features from development through deployment and production monitoring
  • Participate in design/code reviews.
  • Mentor junior engineers
  • Partner with the Infrastructure Team to design data models to support large-scale highly available services
  • Work with QA to develop test plans/strategies
  • Participate in a regular on call rotation


What you will need:

  • Degree in Computer Science or Engineering field or related experience
  • 5+ years of industry experience
  • Strong coding skills; Java is our first choice of language, a plus if you are also familiar with Kotlin and Python
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL
  • Experience with microservices, preferably Spring Boot


Salary Range

$97,500.00 - $164,400.00

These pay ranges apply to employees in New Jersey, New York and California. Pay ranges for employees in other states may differ.
