The Tesla Camera Team designs and integrates camera modules and cleaning solutions across all Tesla vehicle platforms. The team joins mechanical, electrical, controls, software, and manufacturing engineering disciplines in a highly collaborative team. We are seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineers to play a role in building this ambitious vision into reality. There will be an emphasis on creative problem-solving abilities and technical rigor for this role.

Responsibilities
- Support the integration and performance of sensor cleaning systems, primarily for camera on autonomous and electric vehicles
- Design and validate cleaning systems (nozzles, air jets, wipers) for ADAS sensors and design creative design solutions and mechanisms to support Autopilot requirements
- Collaborate with Autopilot, electrical, and body engineering teams
- Develop system-level integration with sensor housings and develop specifications and accelerated test plans to validate the product for its determined lifetime
- Investigate several cleaning technologies and help validate them on fleet vehicles
- Fabricate prototypes, iterate rapidly, advance your concepts through to volume production
- Manage suppliers to execute projects according to the design specifications and timeline commitments
Requirements
- 3 years of experience in automotive ADAS or cleaning system development
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or Mechatronics or equivalent experience
- Hands-on Prototyping and validating next generation automotive cleaning technologies
- Presenting, documenting and educating others regarding cleaning performance, integration challenges and serviceability impacts
- Proficiency in designing parts and assemblies using 3D modeling software (CATIA preferred)
- Experience drafting engineering drawings and conducting tolerance stack-up analysis (GD&T is a bonus)
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment

$106,400 - $256,200/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
