Operations Research Analyst

Location: Remote*

Description: Seeking an Operations Research Analyst to support our efforts under the PRISM MATOC Task Order for the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Manpower and Reserve Affairs (OASD M&RA). This role focuses on delivering resource management and transformation support, enhancing personnel policy, readiness, and financial resilience. The analyst will provide critical insights and operational improvements, aligning with M&RA's mission through advanced analytical expertise.

This position is contingent upon contract award.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct analysis to support resource management aligned with OASD M&RA priorities.
  • Develop strategies to enhance operational transformation and efficiency.
  • Perform audits to ensure compliance and optimize resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate transformation initiatives.
  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation for resource and transformation efforts.
  • Evaluate program performance to identify areas for improvement and innovation.
  • Liaise with government stakeholders to align analytical efforts with mission needs.
  • Maintain currency with DoD resource management and transformation standards.
  • Support user experience (UX) research to improve operational tools and processes.
  • Contribute to cross-functional coordination to ensure seamless project execution.

Required Experience:
  • Proven experience in operations research within DoD or federal environments, with a focus on resource management and transformation.
  • Strong analytical skills for conducting audits and assessing operational efficiency.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects effectively and work under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (including the ability to provide briefs, reports, etc., for senior leader review).
  • Experience with user experience (UX) research to enhance program usability.
  • Capacity to collaborate with diverse teams and contribute to strategic initiatives.
  • Operational working knowledge of DoD resource and transformation systems
  • Familiarity with DoD personnel policy and resource management systems.
  • Ability to potentially travel up to 25% of the time as needed*
  • Active Secret Clearance or the ability to qualify and obtain a Secret clearance.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in operations research, business administration, or related field; Master's degree a plus.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in operations research, including 2+ years supporting federal resource management efforts.
  • 2+ years of experience conducting audits and UX research for government programs.
