Job Summary:
Supermicro Computer is seeking a hands-on Hardware Validation Engineer to assist in executing and supporting memory validation activities across various server platforms. This role is critical in ensuring the performance, reliability, and stability of memory components through structured testing procedures. The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Prepare and configure server platforms for memory validation, including hardware setup, DIMM installation, BIOS configuration, and OS imaging.
- Execute memory validation test cases and stress test suites according to defined procedures and schedules.
- Monitor test status and system health; Collect, organize, and upload test logs and results on database
- Identify and escalate failures or unexpected behaviors to the engineering team within defined response time.
- Assist in maintaining test environments, including lab organization, cable management, and test bench readiness.
- Operate thermal chambers, power cycling tools, and monitoring equipment under supervision and following safety procedures.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and contribute to documentation updates when changes in process occur.
- Support validation engineers in test re-runs, component swaps, and test case updates as needed.
- Maintain inventory of memory modules, server parts, and test-related components.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Electronics, Computer Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent hands-on lab experience.
- 1-2 years of experience in a lab or hardware testing environment (internship or full-time).
- Familiarity with PC/server hardware architecture, especially memory and CPU components.
- Basic understanding of BIOS/UEFI settings and OS installation processes.
- Ability to follow test procedures precisely and document results accurately.
- Good organization, time management, and communication skills.
- Ability to lift and install components such as DIMMs, CPUs, heatsinks, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with memory validation tools (e.g., MemTest86, Prime95, or in-house scripts).
- Familiarity with test automation frameworks and log parsing tools.
- Experience working in server environments (rack systems, blade servers, etc.).
- Understanding of ESD precautions and lab safety procedures.
