Title: Financial Analyst - Cloud Migration Project
Location: Remote
Compensation: $115,000-$130,000/Year

About the Role
We are seeking a detail-driven Financial Analyst to support a large-scale Cloud Migration and Modernization initiative. This role will provide financial oversight, cost impact modeling, and spend tracking to ensure the migration is executed within budget and aligned with strategic business objectives. You will partner closely with IT, cloud engineering, procurement, and project management teams to deliver accurate reporting, forecasts, and insights throughout the migration lifecycle.
Cloud Financial Oversight
- Monitor and analyze cloud-related spend across AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or other platforms.
- Build and maintain cost impact models to evaluate modernization decisions.
- Partner with engineering and operations to ensure cost efficiency and alignment with budgetary targets.
- Provide data-driven recommendations for optimizing cloud spend and resource allocation.
- Prepare and distribute Monthly Cloud Spend Reports with variance analysis against budget and forecast.
- Develop and maintain financial forecasts for cloud migration and ongoing cloud operations.
- Identify cost trends, potential overruns, and opportunities for savings.
- Collaborate with procurement and finance to ensure accurate accruals and cost allocations.
- Support governance processes for cloud financial management, including budget approvals and cost allocation strategies.
- Serve as a finance liaison to project management and technical teams during all phases of migration.
- Maintain compliance with internal controls, financial policies, and reporting standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field (Master's or MBA a plus).
- 3-5+ years of financial analysis experience, preferably in IT, cloud, or infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of cloud cost structures and financial management tools (e.g., AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, Google Cloud Platform Billing).
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with financial modeling and forecasting.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical spending into clear financial insights.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with FinOps practices or certifications.
- Familiarity with project-based accounting and capital/operational expense management.
- Understanding of cloud migration strategies and modernization initiatives.
