Job Summary

The Application Performance Monitoring System Administrator will manage, maintain and support an enterprise level Appdynamics SaaS monitoring tool installation. You will act as an Appdynamics and APM (application performance monitoring) Subject Matter Expert, configure and maintain Appdynamics, analyze performance data, and provide insights to improve monitoring of Medline applications.

As part of the Service Management Office, your primary goal is availability. In your role as Appdynamics SME, you will identify and help resolve application issues and outages, train team members and users on using Appdynamics, and work with Cisco to identify, report on, and resolve issues. You will also maintain a working knowledge of competing APM products in the industry to help ensure Medline is taking a best-in-class approach to APM.

This is a Work-From-Home position. You will be required to be on site 1 day per month.

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update Appdynamics agents and servers
  • Configure application tiers, business transactions, data collectors, and service endpoints
  • Set up alerting mechanisms, health rules, actions, policies
  • Prepare and deliver reports on Appdynamics alerts, logins, and license consumption
  • Manage vendor interaction, including support tickets
  • Maintain documentation for Appdynamics
  • Work with the NOC and application teams to investigate incidents
  • Provide training and support to members of the NOC and Medline IT on the use of Appdynamics
  • Maintain a working knowledge of competing APM products and industry trends, including OTEL.
  • Support Twilio and Power Automate alerting workflows


Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience managing a large-scale Appdynamics/APM installation
  • 3+ years of experience on an operations teams in a demanding fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical skills for problem investigation, isolation, resolution
  • Strong interpersonal/customer-facing and communications skills
  • Demonstrated experience with IT Service Management processes including change management and incident management.
  • General knowledge of Windows and Linux system administration
  • Experience creating SQL queries
  • General knowledge of Azure Cloud and IT networks


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Cisco Appdynamics certification
  • ITIL v4 Foundation certification
  • Experience with other monitoring tools (Splunk, Datadog, Logicmonitor) and industry trends
  • Python development experience

The anticipated salary range for this position:

$85,280.00 - $123,760.00 Annual

The actual salary will vary based on applicant's location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. This role is bonus and/or incentive eligible. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
