Position: Director, Engineering Manager
Location: Charlotte, NC/Concord, CA (Hybrid)

Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Development: Build, manage, and develop a team of 10-15 engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Technical Strategy & Architecture: Drive architectural decisions aligned with AssetMark's technology roadmap, ensuring solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with our platform product strategy.
- Delivery Excellence: Oversee the successful delivery of software initiatives, managing complex projects from concept to implementation while maintaining high quality standards
- Product Partnership: Collaborate closely with the Director of Product and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions, balancing short-term needs with long-term platform vision
- Engineering Practices: Establish and enforce engineering best practices, coding standards, and quality assurance processes that elevate team performance
- Execution: Optimize team performance through effective sprint planning, resource allocation, and removal of delivery obstacles
- Talent Management: Lead recruiting efforts for your team, conduct performance evaluations, develop career paths, and create growth opportunities for team members
- Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Champion innovation within your team while implementing processes that drive continuous improvement in team productivity and code quality
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Strong understanding of wealth management or financial services technology
- Proven track record implementing modern software architectures, including microservices, APIs, and cloud-native applications
- Experience modernizing legacy systems and leading technical transformation initiatives
- Strong technical background with hands-on experience in relevant technology stacks
- Excellent communication skills with ability to translate complex technical concepts for various audiences
- Track record of successful collaboration with product management and business stakeholders
- Experience implementing and optimizing agile development methodologies
Qualifications & Experience
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with 4+ years in engineering management roles
- Experience leading teams of 10+ engineers in a product-oriented environment
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
