Role: Counterparty Credit Risk Business Analyst

Location: Charlotte NC

Interview: Teams (with final round in person that can be done in Charlotte or NY/NJ area if needed)

Duration: 6 months+

Job Summary:

The Counterparty Credit Risk Business Analyst (BA) will play a critical role in assessing, analysing, and improving the counterparty risk management processes. The BA will work closely with stakeholders in risk management, technology, and front office to deliver business solutions, analyse counterparty credit exposure, and ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Analysis:

1. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, document, and analyse business requirements related to counterparty credit risk.

2. Translate business requirements into functional specifications for IT teams.

3. Analyze data to evaluate counterparty credit exposure and identify risk mitigation strategies.

4. Work with quantitative teams to validate and enhance risk models (e.g., Potential Future Exposure, Credit Valuation Adjustment).

Risk Management:

1. Monitor and assess counterparty credit risks for trading activities, including OTC derivatives, securities financing, and lending.

2. Support the implementation of counterparty credit risk frameworks, limits, and policies.

3. Contribute to stress testing, scenario analysis, and back testing of credit risk models.

Regulatory Compliance:

1. Ensure compliance with global regulatory requirements (e.g., Basel III, FRTB, SA-CCR).

2. Provide documentation and support for internal audits and regulatory reviews.

Project Management:

1. Lead or participate in projects aimed at enhancing counterparty credit risk systems and processes.

2. Track and report on project milestones, risks, and deliverables.

Stakeholder Communication:

1. Act as the liaison between business users, technology teams, and risk management.

2. Present findings, proposals, and updates to senior management and stakeholders.

Key Skills and Competencies:

1. Strong understanding of counterparty credit risk concepts and metrics (e.g., PFE, CVA, RWA).

2. Familiarity with financial instruments and markets (derivatives, repos, securities lending).

3. Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python) and risk systems (e.g., Murex, Calypso).

4. Knowledge of regulatory standards like Basel III, SA-CCR, and FRTB.

5. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

6. Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.

2. Master s degree or professional certifications (e.g., CFA, FRM, PRM) is a plus.

3. 3-7 years of experience in counterparty credit risk, risk management, or a related field.

4. Experience with risk systems and technology implementations is highly desirable.
