Job Title: Cloud Solutions Architect - Kubernetes & DevOps
Location: New York City, NY (Onsite)
Duration/Term: Long Term Contract
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Infrastructure Engineer with deep expertise in Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience designing and operating large-scale Kubernetes environments and control planes. You will play a critical role in building scalable, secure, and automated infrastructure using best practices in cloud architecture and DevOps.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain large-scale Kubernetes clusters and control planes.
- Develop scalable infrastructure automation using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
- Architect and manage cloud environments, primarily on AWS.
- Apply best practices in security (e.g., zero-trust architectures) and system resiliency (e.g., fault domain design, isolation).
- Leverage DevOps and GitOps methodologies for efficient solution delivery.
- Collaborate across teams to ensure robust and scalable cloud infrastructure.
- Work independently and as part of a collaborative team to deliver high-impact solutions.
Key Skills and Qualifications
Core Technical Skills
- Kubernetes at Scale: Advanced experience with deploying and managing Kubernetes in large-scale environments.
- Kubernetes Control Planes: Expertise in designing and operating custom or standard control planes.
- Cloud Platforms: Strong understanding of cloud concepts with deep experience in AWS.
- IaC & Automation: Proficiency in infrastructure automation and provisioning (e.g., Terraform, Pulumi).
- Cloud Computing Foundations: Strong knowledge of virtualization, containerization, and microservices.
- Security Principles: Knowledge of cloud security; familiarity with zero-trust architecture is a plus.
- SRE & Resiliency: Understanding of site reliability engineering, fault isolation, and fault domain design.
Tools & Frameworks
- DevOps/GitOps: Experience in using modern CI/CD pipelines and GitOps practices.
- Crossplane: Familiarity or hands-on experience with Crossplane is a plus.
Work Style
- Strong ability to work independently and collaboratively across diverse technical teams.
