SAIC is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the US Navy in Crane, IN.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Candidate will be leading and supporting AN/SLQ-32(V)7 through all phases of product life cycle, including requirements development, design, development, data package creation and validation, test & evaluation, production, acquisition and sustainment.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs Systems Engineering activities related to Engineering including: concept of operations formulation, requirements definition, analysis and engineering, system architecture, system analysis and design, interface and data architectures, validation and verification, systems integration, system & op. performance analysis, Life-cycle cost analysis & estimation, decision analysis and physical configuration analysis (PCA) .
- Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
- Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software or engineering specifications.
- Provides specific, detailed information for selection, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and five (5) years or more experience; Master's in Mechanical Engineering and three (3) years or more experience.
- May require travel to support planning meetings, reviews, etc. (IWS 2E in Washington, DC; and supporting Contractor facility locations; etc.).
- Willing to work in office, lab, and shipyard environments.
- Must be an effective written and verbal communicator and have strong technical writing skills.
- Interim Secret clearance required to start with the ability to obtain a full secret clearance. SAIC will sponsor the clearance process.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Model-Based Engineering (MBE) / Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience
