Seeking a Research Associate, In Vivo Pharmacology for an onsite position in Durham, North Carolina. The Research Associate will play a crucial role in supporting research efforts, including processing tissue samples, managing mouse colonies, and assisting with in vivo study activities. This lab-based role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities of the Research Associate, In Vivo Pharmacology include:
- Conduct DNA, RNA, and protein extraction from tissues or cells.
- Prepare and organize samples, paperwork, and reagents for study activities.
- Manage mouse colonies, including genotyping, weaning, identification, and electronic record updates.
- Track breeding numbers for IACUC oversight.
- Assist with in vivo study activities such as clinical observations, body weight collections, and terminal sample collections.
- Perform PCR gel electrophoresis and qPCR-based genotyping assays.
- Maintain freezer and sample inventories for the in vivo team.
- Share responsibility for maintaining vivarium equipment and tissue processing reagent inventory.
- Document all experiments and associated data in an electronic lab notebook per company policy.
Qualifications for the Research Associate, In Vivo Pharmacology include:
- Minimum B.A./B.S. in Biochemistry, Biology, Immunology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Microbiology, Animal Science, Veterinary Science, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of in vivo and molecular biology research experience.
- Experience with molecular biology techniques such as DNA/RNA extraction.
- Familiarity with small animal handling, body weight collections, euthanasia/carcass disposal, and whole-body perfusion.
- Knowledge of MS Word and Excel is required.
- Experience with SAP, Veeva QMS, and CMMS is strongly preferred.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to take initiative, work independently, and manage multiple workstreams.
Compensation for the Research Associate, In Vivo Pharmacology:
- Salary Range: $25-$30/hour
