Electrical Designer/Engineer

Job Summary:

The Electrical Engineer/Designer will work in a fast-paced multi-discipline team environment responsible for designing building systems and producing construction documentation for institutional projects for a variety of markets.

In this role, you won't just design electrical systems for commercial buildings - you'll play a key role in bringing ambitious ideas to life as part of a collaborative, cross-functional team. We are looking for a highly motivated Electrical Engineer/Designer to be part of our firm and grow with us.

General Duties:
  • Design and program electrical systems including lighting, power, fire alarm, telecom and security.
  • Develop calculations for lighting systems and associated controls.
  • Develop electrical system design calculations.
  • Perform QA/QC design work.
  • Review shop drawing submittals submitted by Contractors to confirm compliance with contract documents. (As needed).
  • Coordinate with Owners and Architects.
  • Complete code compliance research.
  • Oversee and provide guidance to junior engineers.

Skills:
  • Proficient in Revit and MS Office.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code and IECC
  • Effective interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Ability to solve problems in an effective and timely manner
  • Self-directed creativity and innovation
  • High attention to detail

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is desired from an ABET-accredited program
  • 3 to 7+ years of Electrical Engineering experience specializing in design, maintenance, and/or operation of AC power systems, fire alarm systems, and communications systems
  • PE License or EIT, a plus
