Job Details

NexGen Data Systems is seeking a Cloud Computing Specialist (CCS) with substantial cloud computing security knowledge and experience supporting systems in a professional environment. The ideal candidate will be experienced in Risk Management Framework (RMF) and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Certification and Accreditation (C&A) standards and guidelines, DOD cyber security processes, procedures, and directives, modern and dynamic computing (hybrid, edge, cloud native microservices), FedRAMP security methodologies and cloud information systems privacy controls. The candidate will work in a collaborative multi-functional team environment. Certification(s) in respective areas are required.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Assessing Cybersecurity Controls and conducting C&A reviews for large, complex Information systems.
  • Identifying, managing, and resolving cloud computing security risks using DOD Cybersecurity processes, procedures, and directives
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of computer concepts, technologies, and security principles.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF) concepts and assist with incorporating best practices into the strategic plan.
  • Conduct FedRAMP methodology of security and privacy controls assessments on cloud information systems to include six (6) domain areas which include: Architectural Concepts & Design Requirements, Cloud Data Security, Cloud Platform & Infrastructure Security, Cloud Application Security, Operations, Legal & Compliance.

Desired/Required Skills:

  • Active Department of Defense Secret level security clearance required.
  • Must have a current ISC2 Certified Cloud Security Professional IA Level II Baseline Certification
  • ISC2 Certified Cloud Security Professional and One of the following: Google Associate Cloud Engineer or Google Professional Cloud Architect. Plus, one of the following: AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, AWS Certified Security Specialty, AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate, AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Microsoft Certified Azure Security Engineer Associate, or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Cloud Operations
  • Five (5) years hands-on experience working with Department of Defense (DoD) Commercial Cloud Hosting solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of DoD security for Google Cloud Platform
  • Hands-on experience with commercial cloud provider hosting solutions in addition to Google (i.e. Microsoft Azure, AWS, OCI) and associated relevant industry certifications
  • Experienced with various cloud deployment solutions and offerings (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
  • Deep knowledge of cloud security principles and best practices.
  • Strong understanding of NIST controls, DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG)/ IAVAs, and DoD Cloud Computing Security Requirements Guide (CC SRG) relating to cybersecurity principles with experience in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with security posture as well as prepping and supporting successful audits.
  • Skilled in preparing and organizing comprehensive cybersecurity audit reports and technical documentation.
  • Knowledge and understanding of solutions and strategies to meet or exceed requirements of DoD Zero Trust.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
