Job Description:
Team Overview: Oversees Onboarding Operations within Merchant Services.
Onboarding Operations Responsibilities
This team handles a wide range of onboarding and compliance duties:
Key Functions
- KYC / Customer Due Diligence
- Add Locations (e.g., new Target store in Dallas)
- Contract Management
- Regulatory Support
- Implementation Support
- Support for various KYC-related activities
Merchant Identification Number (MID) Creation
- Generate MIDs, which impact:
- Tax reporting
- Sales support
- Chargeback management
- Add products/terminals and payment capabilities (e.g., Mastercard, AmEx, gift cards).
Operational Details
- Intake begins with an Excel form that feeds into the boarding system.
- Heavy data entry and CRM-based queue management.
- Files may be worked across multiple days.
- Review all submissions carefully to determine customer needs.
- Frequent use of Mirror MID for cross-reference.
- Ongoing responsibilities include:
- Updating contracts
- Ordering third-party products
- Post-boarding data updates
- Full systems mastery typically requires 6 months.
Quality & Review
- 100% peer review on all work.
- Not a customer-facing role.
- Monthly scorecards with quality metrics compared across peers.
Vendor Engagement & Hiring Workflow
Elizabeth partners closely with vendors and maintains a structured hiring process:
- Provides a 3-day heads-up before a new requisition is released.
- Once the req opens, she allows 2 days for vendors to collect and submit resumes.
- Expects vendors to send the top 7-10 candidates for review.
- Makes selection decisions immediately after reviewing the shortlisted candidates.
- She values perfect resumes and strong writing skills due to her own English/teaching background.
Role Requirements
Must-Haves
- 1+ year of merchant experience
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Strong written communication
- Experience in data-heavy, accuracy-critical roles
- Familiarity with merchant services environments
- 2 plus years of administrative or business support experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work or consulting experience, training, military experience, education.
- Data Entry, Precision, Attention to Detail, Sense of Urgency, Payments/Merchant Services
Pay Range: $25 - $30
The specific compensation for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
