Mechanical Engineer Job Summary: Our Seattle, WA office is seeking an exceptional Mid-Level Mechanical Engineer to join us as we continue with our strong growth. In this exciting role, you will focus on the design of mechanical systems for new facilities, additions, and renovation projects, including HVAC systems (equipment specification, airside distribution, mechanical piping design, etc.), BMS controls, fuel storage, and plumbing. This will require providing technical leadership for the creation of construction drawings and specifications, existing system studies, and master planning efforts. The project clientele includes Data Centers, Telecom, Federal/DoD, and other highly sophisticated facilities. Essential Functions Work with other Mechanical Engineers, designers, and BIM Specialists for complex design and construction documents. Collaborate with teammates from other design disciplines to deliver a well-coordinated project. Work independently on smaller projects with limited direction. Develop marketing, project management, proposal-writing, and project management skills. Visit project sites (local and across the U.S.) to gather information on existing conditions and review new work. Conduct existing building surveys and documentation of existing HVAC systems Develop system design calculations and selection of equipment for use in buildings Perform Load/Energy calculations with a variety of software as dictated by Client standards. Write/edit project specifications Prepare detailed design documents, reports, and studies Code compliance research Provide construction administration services Perform QA/QC of design work Oversee and provide guidance to junior engineers Successful candidates will have the following: Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting. Ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Desire to learn and grow. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills Leadership ability and entrepreneurial spirit Proficiency in Auto CAD, Revit, and MS Office Ability to travel Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred, but EIT acceptable with PE-comparable years of experience & level of responsibility 5+ years of experience designing HVAC systems for datacenters, telecom, or other high-tech / industrial facilities LEED certification / experience a plus
