Job Details

Genesis10 is seeking a Project Engineer - Mechanical - for a 6+ contract position with a manufacturing client located in Oshkosh, WI. This role requires onsite presence and pays $50-55/hr W2.

Summary:

The Project Engineer - Mechanical will lead and manage an engineering team, driving continuous improvement across disciplines and making critical technical and business decisions. This role will focus on high-level engineering analysis, design, validation, and troubleshooting of complex heavy-duty vehicle components. In addition to technical expertise, the Project Engineer will foster innovation, accountability, and professional development within the team while ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to established standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a team of Engineers, Designers, and Technicians.
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate the activities of the engineering team.
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities, including performance feedback and training.
  • Participate in budgeting processes, department cost forecasting, and preparation of budget requests.
  • Demonstrate business acumen, including understanding of market share and P&L for assigned product lines.
  • Build collaborative relationships with internal and external customers across functions and segments.
  • Present and defend technical decisions to leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure projects of moderate complexity are completed on time, potentially overseeing multiple priorities, schedules, and budgets.
  • Perform complex engineering calculations, investigations, and deliver plans, designs, and reports in alignment with industry and company standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams internally and suppliers externally.
  • Research, create, and update engineering methodologies, standards, and best practices.
  • Communicate project objectives effectively to team members and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering criteria, drawing standards, and company policies.
  • Evaluate designs for safety, performance, and reliability.
  • Maintain project documentation for analysis, research, and historical records.
  • Provide technical support for production, resolving complex issues as needed.
  • Mentor engineers to ensure accurate engineering analysis and documentation.
  • Prepare technical proposals, quotations, reports, and presentations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Five (5)+ years of related engineering experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive or heavy-vehicle systems and components.
  • Experience with advanced CAD tools.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop technical teams.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
