This individual will join our Cloud and Development Platform team and lead the future of Boeing's enterprise cloud platforms and developer toolchain strategy. In this critical role, you will define and drive multi-cloud architecture across commercial and government sectors, including sovereign landing zones and enterprise Development, Security, and Operations (DevSecOps) pipelines.

You will provide enterprise-wide architectural leadership, champion the best practices, break down cross-organizational barriers, and collaborate closely with Enterprise Security, Enterprise Architecture, Product Management, Development, and Operations Teams. Your mission: to deliver secure, complaint, and cost-effective cloud solutions on a scale, making our enterprise platforms the preferred choice for development teams to build and deploy software.

The ideal candidate is both a visionary strategist and hands-on technologist with a proven history of architecting large-scale, regulated cloud platforms. You will influence executive leadership, mentor senior engineers, and represent Boeing in key internal and external forums. Join us to shape the future of cloud innovation at Boeing.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Define and own enterprise cloud platform and landing zone architecture (e.g., multi-cloud, hybrid, Government, sovereign)
  • Architect and standardize Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), infrastructure-as-code (IaC), artifact/secrets management, and security/compliance automation across the enterprise toolchain
  • Create and publish platform roadmaps, reference architectures, guardrails, and migration/consolidation plans
  • Partner with Enterprise Security, Enterprise Architecture, product management, development, and operations to resolve enterprise-level issues
  • Drive unification of internal/external landing zone processes, subscription/account models, and core platform services
  • Enable granular access/delegation patterns that complement role-based access control (RBAC) for secure, auditable operations
  • Provide technical leadership, architecture reviews, and mentorship to senior engineers and platform teams
  • Quantify cost, risk, and business impact of architectural decisions and present to executive stakeholders
  • Ensure high-quality, secure, and compliant delivery patterns, observability, and operational readiness
  • Represent Boeing's cloud and DevSecOps strategy across enterprise forums and external engagements
  • Lead enterprise architecture governance forums; act as final technical authority for deviations from standards
  • Drive risk and resilience architecture, including compliance (e.g., Internal Organization for Standardization (ISO), National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST), Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP)/Internal Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), continuity, and disaster recovery strategies
  • Conduct technology radar and horizon scanning to identify emerging cloud/DevSecOps technologies for adoption
  • Influence industry direction by engaging in external standards bodies, Cloud Service Provider (CSP) advisory boards, and thought leadership forums
  • Mentor senior engineers and develop the next generation of technical leaders within the organization
