Job Details

Job Role: Sr. Data Engineer
Location: New York, NY / Chicago, IL (Onsite 2 3 days per week, Hybrid flexibility available)
Visa Status: Independent
Job Type: Contract
Duration: 12 Months (with possible extension)
Client: Direct
Mode of Interview: Video (2 3 rounds)
Rate: TBD / DOE
Experience Level: 10 12 years minimum

General Skills & Requirements
  • 10 12 years of progressive experience in data engineering with increasing responsibility across diverse projects and technologies.

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.

  • Advanced-level or industry-recognized certifications preferred.

  • Proven ability to function as a team lead, guiding technical direction and mentoring team members.

  • Hands-on experience in planning, deploying, and maintaining tools, platforms, and data infrastructure.

  • Strong expertise in technology migrations and upgrades.

  • Ability to define, track, and communicate key performance indicators (KPIs).

  • Experience working with vendors and handling technical support escalations.

Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in Python for building and managing ELT pipelines, including data manipulation, querying, visualization, and scripting using tools such as PySpark, Pandas, and Dash (SQL knowledge a plus).

  • Strong background in software pipeline development and DevOps practices: GitFlow, CI/CD, containerization.

Soft Skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

  • Domain expertise in the media industry (preferred).
