Vehicle Test Engineer Thermal & Electrical Systems We are seeking a Vehicle Test Engineer to support thermal and electrical system testing at the component, subsystem, and vehicle level. The role focuses on developing test plans, executing thermal validation campaigns, managing test infrastructure, and ensuring traceable and actionable documentation.
Scope: Plan and conduct thermal tests on sensors, ECUs, and other vehicle systems.
Set up and operate thermal chambers, cooling rigs, and instrumentation.
Align test requirements with cross-functional teams and document all activities.
Support in-house and external test execution, including environmental and reliability testing.
Develop DVP&Rs and manage V&V scope, timing, and reporting through work management tools.
Analyze test data in real time and post-processing using engineering fundamentals.
Ensure detailed documentation, including theory of test, execution steps, and data analysis.
Required: BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
3-5+ years in automotive testing and/or development experience in two or more of the following areas - Automotive thermal systems, Automotive HVAC, Automotive electronics thermal management, or vehicle cleaning systems.
Experience with DFMEA and DVP&R development.
Hands-on experience with lab instrumentation and DAQ systems.
Willingness to travel ~10% to sites in WI, MI, OH, CA, AZ, and NV.
Pluses: Background in BEV system or thermal testing.
Experience working with EV trucking or startup environments.
Familiarity with IPetronik, FlexLogger, DIAdem, or National Instruments DAQ systems.
Prior exposure to high-voltage thermal management and validation environments.
Estimated Min Rate: $40.00
Estimated Max Rate: $50.00/hr +. Depends on working experience
