Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Data Security Engineer with a total of 10+ years in IT or cybersecurity, including 5+ years specifically focused on data security for cloud. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Data protection and DAM related technologies to design, implement, and maintain robust data protection and security strategies. This role plays a critical part in safeguarding sensitive information and ensuring compliance across diverse data environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage enterprise-grade data protection and masking solutions using technologies like Protegrity.
  • Support with deployment and administration of Database Activity Monitoring (DAM) and File Security tools like Imperva Data Security solutions on Google Cloud Platform
  • Collaborate with data architecture, engineering, and compliance teams to define and enforce data security policies across structured and unstructured environments.
  • Implement encryption, tokenization, and masking controls in alignment with business and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor, analyze, and respond to data access patterns, anomalies, and incidents.
  • Integrate Protegrity and Imperva solutions with existing SIEMs, DLP, IAM, and cloud-native security stacks.
  • Conduct security risk assessments and audits for databases, filesystems, and cloud storage platforms.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation for configurations, policies, workflows, and incident handling.
  • Support audit readiness and compliance reporting for frameworks such as GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, CCPA, and SOX.
  • Drive continuous improvements through performance tuning, automation, and architectural optimization.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of total experience in IT, security, or related domains.
  • 5+ years of direct experience in data security engineering or data protection roles.
  • Proven hands-on experience with relevant technologies like Protegrity and/or Imperva solutions in production environments.
  • Deep knowledge of data classification, masking, encryption, and access control techniques.
  • Strong experience with enterprise databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and cloud platforms (Google Cloud Platform).
  • Scripting or automation experience (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash) for integrations and reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of identity and access management, network security, and endpoint protection concepts.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance and data privacy standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CDPSE, CIPP/US, or vendor-specific credentials.
  • Experience integrating Protegrity or Imperva with cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery).
  • Exposure to DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.

Prior work in regulated industries such as financial services, healthcare, or government.
