Job Details
The Tennessee Department of Health, Division of Health Disparities Elimination is
seeking to hire one full-time position to support staff and business operations, assist
with the development and revision of contracts, and maintain invoice and fiscal
accountability of contracts. The position will work with the division and office directors
to manage administrative and fiscal functions. As part of this position, routine
submission of financial reports by contractors will be reviewed and recommendations
made to the division leadership and monitoring units to align expenditures with
budgets. The position will also perform a variety of general staff administrative duties
to support program operations.
This is a hybrid position, and the candidate must be available to report to the office at minimum 1 to 2 days per month or more as needed. Some in-state travel is required. The candidate must reside in or be willing to relocate to Tennessee.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepares meeting minutes and notes and edits as needed for accuracy and completeness.
Ensures meeting minutes are finalized within a timely manner, stored electronically, and sent to appropriate staff and partners as needed.
Monitors the allocation of funds and reviews expenditures to ensure funds are spent according to funding guidelines.
Reviews, monitors, and analyzes budgets and expenditures.
Prepares and submits documents for competitive procurement, tracks and monitors the process through completion.
Performs other general administrative duties as required.
Minimum qualifications:
Experience equivalent to substantial (five or more years of) full-time increasingly responsible professional staff administrative experience.
Excellent writing and oral communication skills.
Experience with monitoring budgets and expenditures
Strategic, critical thinking about methods to achieve outcomes.
Ability to research and solve problems creatively.
Collaboration and ability to work with team members to achieve program goals.
Exceptional interpersonal skills and a collaborative, energetic approach.
Skill in developing and maintaining effective partnerships and collaborations.
Education Requirements:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree. Qualifying fulltime
increasingly responsible sub-professional, paraprofessional, or professional experience
may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis, to a maximum of four
years.
