Role Profile
We are seeking a Senior Google Cloud Engineer to join our dynamic ENS Cloud Infrastructure team. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise in designing and implementing Google Cloud platforms and infrastructure-as-code, combined with strong leadership capabilities to influence strategy, drive collaboration, and deliver scalable and secure network solutions. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team that designs and builds the cloud networks and cloud connectivity for the firm.
The successful candidate will be involved in multiple aspects of the team's work, including designing the core cloud platform and architecture, writing blueprints and Terraform code for Cloud Services, developing and contributing to self-service tooling and integrating Cloud Service Provider services with on-premises systems. They will be expected to have strong technical leadership skills in addition to firsthand keyboard experience with one or more public cloud providers (Google, AWS, Azure) in an engineering and/or developer capacity.
What you will do in the role:
Influence organizational cloud adoption strategy through thought leadership and collaboration with senior stakeholders.
Architect, design and implement Cloud Network Infrastructure at enterprise scale
Lead cloud network automation and deployment through integration with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
Develop Terraform modules using Terraform Enterprise, Terraform Cloud
Integrate Cloud core services with Morgan Stanley on-premises systems.
Test infrastructure as code using common testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Terraform Test)
Write technical documentation.
Troubleshooting and debugging
Collaborate with other technical teams at Morgan Stanley to deliver product and solution level support.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering reviews, incident response, and root cause analysis.
What you will bring to the role:
7+ years' experience working in an engineering, architect, or developer role.
4 + years of experience with Cloud PaaS and/or IaaS (Google, Azure, AWS)
Python, Terraform experience with infrastructure as code and configuration tools.
Practitioner-level network automation skills using DevOps and CI/CD pipeline practices.
Ability to work across multi-discipline teams on architecture, features, and problem solving.
Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively and write detailed technical documentation.
Desired Skills:
Terraform, Ansible, GIT, Shell Scripting or Python, CloudFormation, Azure RM
Understanding of client/server, networking, and Internet technologies
Kubernetes
Linux and networking skills
Experience with agile framework and devops
Familiarity with landing Zone frameworks
Knowledge, awareness, and contributor to open-source projects
Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Advanced Networking, Azure Network Engineer, Google Cloud Platform Professional Cloud Network Engineer).
