Technical Business Analyst
Job Details
Technical Business Analyst with strong SQL skills and deep experience in Capital Markets or Investment Banking to support technology initiatives for our client. The ideal candidate will work closely with business users, product managers, and technology teams to drive front-to-back solutions for trading, risk, compliance, and operations.
This role demands a solid technical background, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to translate complex financial requirements into actionable technical deliverables.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with business stakeholders across trading, risk, operations, and compliance to gather and document business/functional requirements.
- Use SQL to perform complex data analysis, profiling, validation, and reconciliation to support requirements and testing efforts.
- Translate business needs into technical specifications for development teams and contribute to solution design.
- Work closely with QA and Dev teams to ensure deliverables meet business expectations.
- Create use cases, process flow diagrams, data flow mappings, and test plans.
- Support UAT by defining test scenarios, validating results, and coordinating with end users.
- Drive end-to-end project execution using Agile/Scrum methodologies and maintain JIRA/Confluence documentation.
- Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and demos.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 6 10 years of experience as a Technical Business Analyst in Capital Markets, Investment Banking, or Wealth Management.
- Strong proficiency in SQL for data extraction, reporting, validation, and troubleshooting.
- Proven experience with front-to-back banking processes trading, settlements, compliance, or risk.
- Ability to interpret and analyze large datasets and present insights to stakeholders.
- Understanding of trade lifecycle, financial instruments (Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives), and reference data management.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments using JIRA, Confluence, and collaboration tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface with business and technical teams.
Nice to Have:
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements (e.g., Dodd-Frank, MiFID II, Basel III, etc.).
- Familiarity with data warehousing, ETL workflows, or BI/reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau).
- Exposure to message formats like FIX, XML, JSON.
- Experience working with trading platforms, OMS, or portfolio management systems.
