Job Details

Title: Sr. Data Governance Analyst
Location: Tempe, AZ (Hybrid must be local)
Type: Long-Term Contract


The Senior Data Governance Analyst designs and leads initiatives that improve how enterprise data is managed, understood, and maintained. This role strengthens data integrity, enhances regulatory compliance, and helps establish consistent governance practices. Working with both technical and business teams, this person helps the organization optimize the value and reliability of its data assets.


Your role:

Adapt and Integrate Existing Governance Plans for OT Use


  • Review current Water Data Governance and Analytics (WDGA) governance plans.
  • Align them with enterprise policies and industry best practices.
  • Customize the framework to fit OT s operational needs and data challenges.
  • Embed governance protocols into regular analytics workflows within OTSS.

Support IEC CIM Data Governance Activities


  • Partner with Utilicast and internal teams to develop a RACI matrix for the IEC Common Information Model.
  • Clarify and address differences between CIMM and IEC CIM UML diagrams.
  • Help oversee the integration of CIM mappings into Collibra.
  • Coordinate efforts between SRP CIM and IEC CIM mapping workstreams.
  • Manage updates and promote consistency in data naming and structures.

Contribute to Reference Data Governance Effort


  • Collaborate with OT stakeholders to assess and document current naming standards.
  • Create and enforce consistent naming conventions across Power System assets.
  • Design fallback mapping strategies when uniform naming isn t possible.
  • Train OT team members on governance standards and why they matter.

What you ve got:


  • Bachelor s degree in computer science, information systems, data management, or related discipline
  • At least 10 years of total experience, including 3 or more in data governance or data management roles
  • Deep understanding of data quality management, metadata, stewardship, privacy, and regulatory standards
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with tools such as Collibra Data Catalog, Collibra Data Quality, Erwin, and Sparx
  • Skilled in cross-functional communication, including non-technical audiences and executive stakeholders
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver in fast-paced environments
  • Excellent documentation, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
  • High ethical standards and commitment to maintaining confidentiality
  • Ability to guide others, drive initiatives independently, and think critically about complex data issues
  • Strong organizational and leadership abilities, with a focus on service orientation


Preferred:


  • Certifications such as CDMP or DGSP
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps or similar platforms
