Azure Databricks Engineer

Job Description:

Client is looking for a seasoned Azure Databricks Engineer with 5 10 years of experience to design, develop, and optimize data pipelines, machine learning workflows, and advanced analytics solutions on the Azure platform. The candidate will work closely with architects, and business stakeholders to drive high-impact data solutions leveraging Azure Databricks and the broader Azure ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Azure Databricks and Apache Spark.
  • Integrate structured and unstructured data from various sources including Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse, and external APIs.
  • Implement best practices for data engineering, including performance tuning, data validation, and governance.
  • Collaborate with data scientists to productionize machine learning models within Databricks.
  • Ensure data security and compliance using Azure role-based access control, encryption, and networking.
  • Monitor pipeline performance and implement strategies for optimization and reliability.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5 10 years of experience.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks and Apache Spark.
  • Strong experience with Azure services like Data Lake Storage (ADLS), Synapse Analytics, Azure Functions, and Key Vault.
  • Proficient in Python, SQL, and Spark (PySpark or Scala).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and version control (e.g., Git).
  • Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL frameworks, and performance optimization.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Delta Lake and structured streaming.
  • Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Data Engineer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect)
  • Exposure to MLflow, Unity Catalog, or other MLOps tools.
  • Experience in working with BI tools like Power BI or Tableau.
