The Senior Payroll Administrator is responsible for the payroll operation of Client's Health Plan and its subsidiaries. This role will bring hands-on experience with high-volume, multi-state payroll and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Functions & Job Responsibilities
Administer full-cycle, in-house payroll for 235 employees
Handle multi-state payroll processing, including compliance with CA, AZ, and CO regulations
Process garnishments, manage time and attendance systems, and resolve payroll discrepancies
Prepare and post payroll-related journal entries
Ensure compliance with internal controls and audit requirements
Leverage timekeeping systems on Paycom for accurate payroll tracking
Support payroll reporting and analytics using Advanced Excel tools (e.g., Pivot Tables)
Partner with internal departments on payroll-related matters and support year-end reporting
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
Bachelor s degree preferred, but not required
5+ years of payroll experience, including multi-state environments
Strong knowledge of payroll compliance and best practices
Experience with garnishment processing and journal entries
Proficiency in Excel and payroll/timekeeping systems
Skills:
Demonstrated management experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Proficient in accounting and tax preparation software
Ability to provide professional customer service to both internal and external customers.
Demonstrated ability to work with all levels of staff.
Ability to work well in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
