RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Chelsmford, MA that is seeking a Systems Engineer - Windows. This role supports both operational and project-based work, with responsibilities driven by business needs.
Responsibilities:
* Implement and maintain infrastructure configurations according to established best practices and enterprise standards, proactively identifying and resolving potential configuration issues to ensure optimal system stability and performance
* Monitor and analyze IT infrastructure performance and configuration data to identify potential issues and proactively address them
* Conduct routine system maintenance and resolve operational incidents, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations
* Utilize established ITIL-based processes and corporate ticketing systems to ensure consistent and efficient resolution of IT issues and requests
* Work to resolve complex incidents and escalated tickets, leveraging expertise and collaborating with colleagues to ensure timely resolution and minimal impact on business operations
* Develop and maintain technical documentation and diagrams to support operational procedures
* Provide advanced technical support and guidance to internal teams and external stakeholders
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, internal IT teams, and external vendors, to design, implement, and maintain IT infrastructure solutions
* Participate in disaster recovery planning and execution
* Promote and implement automation to enhance efficiency, create self-service capabilities, and improve the reliability of IT systems
* Stay current with developments in systems technology and recommend ways to take advantage of new innovations and advancements
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in CIS, MIS, IT, or a related field or equivalent experience preferred
* Possess a current certification relevant to the support technology field (e.g. Windows Server Administrator; VMware Certified Professional; NetApp Certified Professional, etc.)
* 7+ years of prior industry experience (Enterprise preferred)
* Backup administration experience (Commvault preferred)
* Backup strategy and design experience
* Experience with disaster recovery procedures
* HPE Nimble and NetApp administration experience preferred
* Understanding of networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP, Certificates (PKI), Switching, Firewalling, Virtual Networking
* Proven working experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Linux/Windows-based environments
* Experience in multi-site datacenter operations, including onsite hands-on support for server hardware, network equipment, and cabling
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to exchange ideas and information and effectively relate to others to accomplish work responsibilities
* Automation skills using PowerShell or other scripting or orchestration tools to streamline system administration tasks
* Experience with monitoring systems
* Possess the ability to achieve quality results, be change-oriented, foster innovation, and be a continuous learner
* Ability to travel as needed (up to 15%)
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
