Job Title: Veeva Vault Consultant
Location: San Francisco CA (Onsite)
Type: Contract
As a Veeva Vault Consultant, you will work with life-sciences / pharmaceutical / biotech clients to implement, configure, and support the Veeva Vault platform (or related Vault solutions), translating business requirements into technical solutions and ensuring successful deployment, adoption, and compliance.
Your role will involve end-to-end ownership of Vault implementations from requirements gathering and design to configuration, migration, validation, training, and support.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with clients to understand business processes, gather requirements, and conduct fit-gap analysis.
- Design and configure Vault solutions: define document types, metadata models/objects/fields, lifecycles/workflows, security & permissions, page layouts, reports/dashboards etc.
- Lead data and document migrations migrating legacy content and metadata into Vault while ensuring data integrity and compliance.
- Perform system validation, testing, and configuration changes. Prepare and update SOPs or standard documentation as needed.
- Provide L2/L3 support: troubleshoot issues, handle user requests, manage application maintenance, upgrades, and coordinate with vendors for bug fixes or major updates
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (IT, QA, regulatory, stakeholders) to ensure alignment with compliance standards (e.g. GxP, regulatory, audit trail, user access control) for life-sciences environment.
- Provide training, support, and guidance to end-users or client teams to enable smooth adoption of Vault solutions.
- Optionally, for more technical-oriented roles: design and implement integrations via Vault APIs, custom development using Vault SDK (Java/JavaScript), and automation where needed
Typical Requirements & Skills
- Bachelor s degree in Life Sciences, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- Hands-on experience with Veeva Vault configuration, implementations, migrations or administration (often 2 5+ years depending on seniority).
- Strong understanding of document management systems, content management, metadata modelling, workflows/lifecycles.
- Familiarity with regulatory/compliance requirements in pharmaceutical/life-sciences (e.g. GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, validation, audit trails) is a plus.
- Technical skills (good to have): SQL, databases, REST APIs / integrations, scripting (Python/Java/JavaScript), system administration, data migration tools or ETL tools.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills (ability to liaise between technical and business users).
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional and possibly global teams; sometimes ability to travel depending on client/project needs
