Distribution Operations Manager - (Solar & Renewable Energy)

Location: Atlanta (downtown, onsite 4 days/week)

Job Type: Contract to hire

Job Summary:

The Distribution Operations Manager will oversee a team of statewide electrical technicians responsible for conducting electrical safety checks on solar and renewable energy systems. This role ensures compliance with industry regulations, optimizes operational efficiency and maintains high safety standards across all inspections.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and support a team of electrical technicians across the state.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all inspections adhere to electrical safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
  • Operational Efficiency: Develop and implement strategies to streamline inspection processes and improve service delivery.
  • Technical Oversight: Provide guidance on troubleshooting, maintenance, and best practices for solar and renewable energy systems.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with internal teams, regulatory bodies, and external partners to ensure smooth operations.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of inspections, compliance reports, and performance metrics.
  • Training & Development: Conduct regular training sessions to keep technicians updated on industry advancements and safety protocols.


Qualifications & Skills:
  • Education: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field (preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum 5+ years in operations management within the utility or renewable energy sector.
  • Certifications: Relevant electrical safety certifications (e.g., OSHA, NABCEP) are a plus.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to manage and develop a dispersed technical team.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of solar PV systems, wind energy, and electrical safety standards.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to assess challenges and implement effective solutions
