Job Details:
We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Quality Engineer to join our dynamic team. This position plays a critical role in our organization, driving quality and efficiency in our manufacturing processes. As a Manufacturing Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and safety. You will be working closely with various teams, including production, design, and supply chain, to ensure that our manufacturing processes deliver the best quality products to our customers. This is a full-time, permanent position that requires a minimum of 4 years of experience in the manufacturing industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement and manage quality control systems designed to ensure continuous production of advanced composite materials and applications (consistent with established standards, customer specifications, and production goals).
  • Supervise and mentor a team of quality control inspectors.
  • Ensure a high level of internal and external customer service. Investigate (and correct) customer issues and complaints relating to quality.
  • Provide technical and statistical expertise to teams.
  • Formulate, document and maintain quality control standards and on-going quality control objectives.
  • Coordinate objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other plant managers to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.
  • Create, document and implement inspection criteria and procedures.
  • Interpret quality control philosophy to key personnel within the company.
  • Provide, and oversee, inspection activity for product throughout the production cycle.
  • Apply total quality management tools and approaches to analytical and reporting processes.
  • Interact with vendors to ensure the quality of all purchased parts.
  • Maintain active role on internal continuous improvement teams.
  • Design, develop and implement quality control training programs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, industrial, mechanical engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience in a similar role within the manufacturing industry.
  • Extensive knowledge and technical skills in areas of metal, product inspection, manufacturing processes, and quality control.
  • Proven experience with quality management systems, standards, and procedures.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and experience with complex transactions with little supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Exceptional managerial and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire a shared vision and empower and motivate a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with clients, staff, and management.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
  • Certifications an advantage including Quality Auditor, Quality Engineer, Quality Improvement Associate, Six Sigma.
  • Quality inspection, auditing and testing experience.
  • Experience with implementation of corrective action programs.
  • Product or industry-specific experience.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and databases.
  • Knowledge of tools, concepts and methodologies of QA.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements.
