Summary:
Client is seeking a Senior Database Administrator (DBA) to lead the management, optimization, and support of its enterprise Oracle database environment. This role requires a highly experienced and versatile generalist capable of performing all facets of database management-from provisioning and tuning to DevOps integration and incident response. As a senior member of the database engineering team, you will work across multiple infrastructure and application teams, ensuring secure, performant, and resilient data systems that support critical business operations.

Must-Have Skillsets:

  • Oracle database systems administration including RAC and ASM 19c 10+ years
  • Oracle database performance optimization 10+ years
  • Oracle database VLDB structures and partitioning management 10+ years
  • AWS RDS database administration, security, automation, CFTs, etc 2+ years
  • Managing Oracle databases on Exadata platform 5+ years
  • Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience with Oracle database administration.
  • Expert knowledge of Oracle RAC, DataGuard, and Enterprise Manager.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and proven experience resolving database performance and availability issues.
  • Solid experience with RedHat Linux (v6 and newer) as a hosting platform for Oracle databases.
  • Proficient in Korn or Bash shell scripting for automation and operational support.

Preferred Qualifications (Competitive Edge):

  • Hands-on experience with AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Familiarity with security testing, failover, and disaster recovery scenarios.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced Agile/Scrum environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provision, configure, upgrade, and patch Oracle databases (12.2 and newer) in standalone and RAC environments.
  • Administer and support Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) in high-availability, load-balanced configurations.
  • Diagnose and resolve database reliability and performance issues through analysis and tuning.
  • Implement Oracle Data Guard for replication and disaster recovery support.
  • Develop and maintain Unix/Linux shell scripts (Korn/Bash) for automation, monitoring, and backup/recovery operations.
  • Collaborate with application development teams to deploy database objects and support SDLC efforts.
  • Manage and support tools for performance monitoring, data refreshes, cloning, and automated deployment.
  • Interface with vendors and managed service providers to resolve technical issues and manage support cases.
  • Ensure compliance with Delta's security policies, recommending and implementing remediation as needed.
  • Maintain documentation of database architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.
  • Mentor and support junior team members in technical development and task execution.
  • Support flexible work schedules, including potential off-hours and weekend availability for production changes or incident response.
