About the role:

As a Lead Project Engineer you will lead development of AP1000 projects from initiation to completion. You will manage project design and coordination ensuring excellence, compliance, and delivery. The Lead Project Engineer will work with the Project Manager, Engineering Manager and business and technical teams, providing technical leadership and expertise to support project success. You will report to the Manager of Engineering for Poland AP1000 Project Engineering. This position is hybrid from the US based in Cranberry Woods, PA in the Greater Pittsburgh Area.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead planning, design, and execution of engineering projects, ensuring aligning w/ goals and industry standards.
  • Project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation for cost-effective on time completion
  • Collaborate with our teams, clients, and vendors to define requirements and resolve technical challenges
  • Ensure compliance w/ industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies throughout all project phases
  • Identify project risks and implement proactive solutions to keep projects on track
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project team
  • Conduct feasibility studies, scope development reviews, and performance evaluations for project optimization
  • Continuous improvement to enhance efficiency, quality, and project outcomes

Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience
  • International travel to support the Poland project
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or related)
  • 8 years project engineering/management or equivalent roles of increased responsibilities, with experience leading successful projects or large scope
  • Engineering principles, project management methodologies, and regulatory standards
  • Project management and engineering software like Primavera and Microsoft Project
  • Leadership and teamwork abilities, with experience collaborating across departments
  • Interested in obtaining Professional Engineer (PE) license or PMP certification
  • General knowledge of Westinghouse nuclear products like AP100, AP300, eVinci
