Job Description:
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced OMS Engineer to oversee the administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the eTerra OMS platform and its integrations. This role is pivotal in ensuring the optimal performance and uptime of Outage Management Systems (OMS), particularly focusing on GE OMS (eOMS) or CGI OMS technologies. The successful candidate will be instrumental in enhancing OMS processes to support business operations and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure system efficacy and security. This position offers a dynamic work environment where technical expertise and proactive management are highly valued.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot the eTerra OMS platform to ensure system reliability, performance, and uptime.
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain operational procedures of the OMS to streamline business processes and support operational needs.
  • Manage and optimize integrations between OMS and other GMS modules, as well as external applications, ensuring seamless data flow and system functionality.
  • Analyze and refine the AMI Filtering Rules Engine, enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of outage detection and response mechanisms.
  • Collaborate with IT, operations, and external vendors to resolve system issues, roll out new updates, and implement system enhancements.
  • Ensure adherence to system security protocols and compliance regulations, maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of operational data.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to internal teams, enhancing their understanding and skills related to OMS operations.

Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in OMS administration, with a strong preference for candidates with experience in GE OMS (eOMS) or CGI OMS.
  • In-depth understanding of Outage Management Systems and their application in grid operations and outage management.
  • Proven track record of successful integration of OMS with other GMS modules and external applications.
  • Expertise in AMI Filtering Rules Engine technologies and troubleshooting related issues.
  • Familiarity with real-time power grid operations and adherence to utility industry best practices.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, capable of managing projects and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with SCADA, DMS, or EMS systems in a utility environment is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in SQL, scripting, or automation tools for system maintenance and data management.
  • Experience with cloud-based or hybrid OMS deployments is a plus.
