Job Details

Position Purpose

Manage in-house hardware/software and network connections to ensure high levels of confidentiality,

integrity, availability, and security of the supported business applications.

Essential Duties

  • Perform a variety of computer systems administration and support tasks; analyze, construct, document, maintain operating systems, maintain server configurations, evaluate PC hardware,
  • PC peripherals, software applications, testing equipment, and troubleshoot communication devices for the entire organization.
  • Responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and the reliable operation of computer systems and servers; ensure all Garden PCs maintain established level of security and meet user needs.
  • Responsible for the configuration, reliability, and maintenance of computer systems, network devices, servers, and other equipment.
  • Perform regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.
  • Responsible for database performance, network capacity, and storage planning.
  • Lead desktop and helpdesk support efforts; ensure desktop applications, PCs, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions.
  • Troubleshoot hardware/software errors onsite and with remote users; assess any negative impacts of technology; document known problems and resolutions; and resolve diagnosed problems accordingly.
  • Install and upgrade computer hardware/software, desktop telephones and other network devices.
  • Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new upgrades to the IT infrastructure.
  • Manage remote access to the Garden network; train staff on use of the selected work-from- home solution.
  • Assist employees with email retrieval on cellular devices, tablets, and their PCs.

  • Bachelor s degree in computer science or related field and two years experience preferred; or comparable combination of education and experience.
  • Relevant IT-related Certifications.
  • Working technical knowledge of Network Devices, Microsoft Windows, Apple, Mobile Devices, and other platform operating systems.
  • Application support experience.
  • Working technical knowledge of current systems software, protocols, and standards.
  • Knowledge of Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), and Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) administration.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting experience with software and hardware.
  • Experience with safely executing data management procedures to insure data integrity.
  • Experience in documenting and maintaining technology configurations and information process.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and effective communication skills.
  • Adept at reading, writing, and interpreting technical documentation and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to conduct research into hardware and software issues and products as required.
  • Ability to present ideas and solutions in user-friendly language.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed with keen attention to detail.
  • Skilled at working within a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Ability to work off-hours with occasional evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.

Salary Range: $59,194 to $78,733

Typical office equipment.

Internal Communication

Frequent communication with Garden employees at all levels of the organization.

External Communication

Manage projects and trouble tickets with a professional level of communication with vendors and contractors.

Working Conditions

Some physical effort beyond what s typically required in a normal office environment. Potential for tight deadlines or time periods of high workload may require additional hours. The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal.

Must be able to walk, sit, stand, stoop, crawl, kneel, bend, see, hear, speak, read, and type. Manual dexterity and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds required.
