Network Engineer - Subject Matter Expert (SME)
Location: Cambridge, MA (100% Onsite)

About the Role

TEKsystems is seeking an experienced Network Engineer - SME to support a high-impact federal program in Cambridge, MA. This is a hands-on, expert-level role focused on designing, implementing, and managing complex network infrastructures in a secure, mission-critical environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the transition from IPv4 to IPv6 across enterprise networks.
  • Manage and maintain Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) environments.
  • Design, implement, and troubleshoot advanced network architectures.
  • Collaborate with IT teams and application owners to ensure network stability and scalability.
  • Support disaster recovery and business continuity initiatives.
  • Develop and enforce network policies, procedures, and change management processes.
  • Integrate physical and virtual network environments.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in network engineering and architecture.
  • Expertise in:
    • Cisco ISE
    • Palo Alto Firewalls
    • Cisco Firepower VPN
    • Cisco ACI & DNAC
    • IPv6, DHCP, DNS, VPN, MPLS, MTIPS
    • BGP, EIGRP, QoS
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Cisco CCIE Certification.
  • Experience with virtualization networking technologies.
  • Prior experience supporting federal government agencies. (but not required)

Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to work on a W2 with at least 3 years of U.S. residency.
  • Must be able to complete the eApp National Investigation Services (NBIS) form.
  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance (2-3 month process).
  • Must have excellent communication skills

Work Environment

  • Location: Cambridge, MA
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, core business hours
  • Work Type: 100% Onsite (no remote/hybrid options)

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $72.11 - $79.32/hr.
