Cyber Security Systems Manager (Cyber SSM) Germantown, MD Clearance Required: Active Top Secret Clearance Contract | On-site | 1 Year Plus
Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cyber Security Systems Manager to lead and oversee cybersecurity operations supporting federal government initiatives. The Cyber SSM will be responsible for managing security architecture, ensuring compliance with federal standards, and leading a team of cybersecurity professionals in protecting mission-critical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of cybersecurity policies, procedures, and standards
- Manage security operations including threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability management
- Oversee compliance with cybersecurity frameworks
- Coordinate with federal stakeholders to ensure alignment with mission objectives
- Conduct risk assessments and security audits across IT infrastructure
- Supervise and mentor cybersecurity analysts and engineers
- Manage cybersecurity tools including SIEM, endpoint protection, and network monitoring systems
- Prepare and present reports on security posture and incident trends to senior leadership
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with 3+ years in a leadership role
- Strong knowledge of federal cybersecurity standards
- Experience with security tools such as Splunk, Tenable, and Palo Alto a plus
- Active Top Secret Clearance
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or PMP highly desirable
