Location: Remote (U.S. Based) Initial remote till Nov Dec, then occasional travel required to Dallas, TX for team meetings and trainings

Job Description

We are seeking a Jr. Google Cloud Platform Data Engineer with a strong background in the Healthcare domain to join our client s team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 6 years of experience in data engineering, with at least 2+ years of hands-on work in Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform). The candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, contributing to the design, development, and optimization of large-scale healthcare data pipelines.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines on Google Cloud Platform for healthcare datasets.

  • Work with BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Composer, and related Google Cloud Platform services.

  • Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality, reliable data solutions.

  • Ensure data quality, security, and compliance with healthcare regulations (HIPAA, PHI).

  • Support data migration from on-prem or other cloud environments into Google Cloud Platform.

  • Troubleshoot and optimize performance of complex SQL queries and pipelines.

  • Contribute to best practices in data governance, metadata management, and data security in healthcare projects.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5 6 years of professional experience in data engineering.

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Composer, Cloud Storage).

  • Strong experience in SQL, Python, and ETL frameworks.

  • Prior experience in the healthcare domain working with claims, EMR/EHR, or other healthcare datasets.

  • Knowledge of HIPAA, PHI compliance standards.

  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and performance optimization.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with FHIR, HL7, or other healthcare data standards.

  • Exposure to machine learning pipelines on Google Cloud Platform.

  • Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps practices.
