Senior Software Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce's client in Edison, NJ is looking for a Software Engineer to join their team! This position will be in the office one week a month, with the rest of the month being remote.

Job Summary:
The Senior Software Engineer will join a collaborative team of highly talented Engineers, Data Scientists, Human Factors Engineers, and Managers. This role requires building software services and applications that process healthcare data, extract insights, automate analysis and ETL pipelines, and enable clinicians and other end-users to perform their work more efficiently.

Essential Job Functions:
* Senior Software Engineer will develop scalable, secure, robust services and applications that meet the specified requirements
* Write correct, understandable, and maintainable code that adheres to the SOLID principles and is fully unit tested
* Develop pipeline code to automate data flow through services and applications (e.g., Apache Airflow)
* Create monitoring code to ensure correctness, acceptable performance, and uptime of services and applications
* Deploy application artifacts to target environments using supported technologies and infrastructure
* As a Senior Software Engineer, you will participate in the full software lifecycle: requirements analysis, iterative development, release, and maintenance
* Other duties and/or projects as assigned
* Adheres to organizational competencies and standards of behavior

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree
* Minimum of 6+ years of experience programming with at least one of the following languages: Python, Ruby, C#, Node.js, JavaScript
* Experience architecting solutions using modern, secure, cloud-based container platforms (PaaS/SaaS)
* Experience building and deploying containerized services and applications to a cloud platform (ideally, Google Cloud Platform)
* Experience writing code for cluster management (e.g., Kubernetes)
* Experience writing comprehensive unit tests and including them in a CI/CD pipeline (e.g., GitHub workflows)
* Experience using Git for version control
* Experience opening pull requests, performing code reviews, and managing deployments through branches (e.g., GitHub Flow)
* Experience with data streaming, ingest, ETL, and data warehousing technologies
* Advanced knowledge of application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines
* Familiarity with Agile work processes
* Attention to detail, critical thinking, desire to learn, and intellectual curiosity
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and Google Suite platforms
* Ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders
* Ability to translate complex technical concepts

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
