Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Citrix Administrator to serve as a key technical resource within a large enterprise infrastructure environment. The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on experience supporting and administering Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops, Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), Windows Server environments, networking, security, automation, monitoring, and troubleshooting across multiple infrastructure layers.

You will be responsible for managing Citrix/AVD environments, hardening and maintaining Windows Server systems, creating and managing network and security rules, automating processes using PowerShell, and ensuring consistent performance and reliability for end users. This role requires strong documentation skills and the ability to follow enterprise security, governance, and operational standards.

Core Responsibilities

• Administer and optimize Citrix DaaS/CVAD and Azure Virtual Desktop environments, including host pools, session hosts, delivery groups, image lifecycle, FSLogix profiles, Citrix Gateway, cloud connectors, and app layering.
• Build, patch, harden, and maintain Windows Server (2022) systems; manage AD, GPO, DNS, DHCP, file/print services, and enterprise patching processes.
• Automate routine tasks using PowerShell and leverage MECM/Intune, ARM/Bicep, or basic Terraform concepts for configuration and deployment.
• Apply networking skills including TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, load balancing, ACLs, and firewall rule configuration across OS, Citrix, and Azure layers.
• Monitor performance using Citrix Director, Citrix Analytics, Azure Monitor, and Log Analytics; drive root cause analysis and incident resolution.
• Follow enterprise governance standards including change management, configuration controls, patch compliance, and vulnerability management.
• Create clear and accurate technical documentation, operational guides, and process workflows.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and maintain a seamless virtual desktop user experience.
• Participate in an on-call rotation for escalated or priority incidents.

Minimum Required Qualifications

• 7+ years administering Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops / Citrix DaaS and/or Azure Virtual Desktop
• 7+ years with networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, subnets, VLANs, DNS, load balancing, ACLs, and firewall rule management
• 7+ years of PowerShell scripting and familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code concepts
• 7+ years of experience monitoring and troubleshooting Citrix/AVD, Windows Server, and network layers
• 7+ years of experience creating technical documentation and working within structured change/incident management processes
• 7+ years administering Windows Server in enterprise environments (AD, GPO, DNS/DHCP, file/print, patching)

Preferred Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience with Azure network security, public sector security frameworks (such as NIST 800-53), or CIS security benchmarks
• Citrix or Microsoft certifications such as CCA-V, CCP-V, CCE-V, AZ-104, AZ-140
• ITIL Foundation, Network+, or Security+ certifications are also a plus
